Xiang Gu (Fann Wong) became a silly matchmaker after her mother absconded with the club's money. Left with three younger brothers, Xiang Gu had no choice but to become a matchmaker like her mother.

In an attempt to matchmake Ah Ba (Qin Wei) with Jin Zhu (Pan Shuqing), Xiang Gu actually fell in love with Ah Ba. However, she was already engaged to Robert since young. Unknown to Xiang Gu, Ah Ba also found himself falling in love with her! He realized that he is not compatible with Jin Zhu at all! But none of them bared their feelings to each other.

 On the wedding day of Ah Ba and Jin Zhu, Ah Ba suddenly declared that the person whom he really loves is Xiang Gu and not Jin Zhu! He then grab hold of Xiang Gu and ran off together with her!

香姑（范文芳饰）因母亲卷走会钱而逃，又苦无生计，便只好承接母亲的行业当起媒人婆。街坊纷纷不满， 便派了仗义疏财的阿巴 （秦伟饰）监视香姑。 一次，阿巴无意间扯下日本国旗，参加抗日运动的富家千金金珠（潘淑钦饰）误会阿巴是抗日英雄，对他钦慕不已， 暗示他找媒婆来提亲。金珠的父亲嫌弃阿巴是穷小子，便提出‘四点金’来刁难他。香姑好心为阿巴筹钱买金，两人日夜相对而渐生情愫。阿巴在迎娶金珠当日临阵退缩， 强拉香姑上花车。但香姑却碍于自己已有婚约而举棋不定。
