Lin An Ni (Fann Wong) was bought up by her mother (Fann Wong) in Australia. Her mother told An Ni about her birth background just before she passed away. Unhappy with the way they are being treated, An Ni decided to fight for her share of legacy left by her late father.

Strangely, a few murders happen to the Lin's family just before the legacy was read. An Ni happened to witness one of the murders and tried to escape. During her escape, An Ni fell down a slope and was saved by Inspector Wang Zhi Xian (Lin Jun Xian).
